The blind lawyer’s journey into public service

He’s the founder of the Eyecoming platform and a public interest lawyer in mainland China. Jin Xi was born with a visual impairment. He relied on speech computer software to learn, and was able to achieve top grades. In 2010, he successfully passed the mainland judicial profession exam. Jin Xi cares passionately about the rights of persons with disabilities in the mainland and promotes equality for them. In 2015, he represented two travellers with disabilities in a lawsuit, claiming that a mainland airline company had refused to take them. He was successful in getting the airline to provide compensation and issue an apology.
